This cache will take you to one of my favourite spots on Bennachie, one spot the few people know about and how to find. I first found at about this spot from my mum who had been doing a lot of research in to Bennachie and its many secrets. The first time i ever went to find the waterfall was from the rowantree carpark and took me about an hour and a half with many phone calls to ask for directions but it can be reached in just over half an hour.
This cache can be reached relatively easy from either the Bennachie Center or the Rowantree carpark, From the Rowantree carpark head up the Mither Tap path to the first crossing where you will take a left. From here you follow this path for a good bit (about 20 mins) where you will head down a rocky hill and then over a small river (Rushmill Burn) and back up another incline. When you reach the top of this incline the track splits and you will take a right. Stick to the lower route up this path as you head towards the GPS Coordinates. when you reach the coordinates the waterfall will be directly in front of you ENJOY THE VIEW! The cache however is located bellow you at the old "Fog house"
I have tried to look in to the history of the old fog house with little information to be found, as far as i understand it was built by Pittodrie Estate as a picnic spot for the gentry, other than that i know little about the spot other than that you get a lovely view of the waterfall from inside!
