The Chocolate House - Plaza de Espana
This is one in a Series of World Wide Flash Mob Events that will occur simultaneously on Saturday, June 7, 2014. It is a gathering of Geocachers, their families and friends.
This event will only be 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)
About the Event
This event is in conjunction with hundreds of other World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events that will be held simultaneously around the world. Come be a part of a worldwide caching event, with potentially thousands of participants!
You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will begin PRECISELY at 10:00 am Guam Standard Time (by using the clock on your GPSr) on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
The event will be held at the Chocolate House in Plaza de Espana (Spanish Plaza) in Hagatna. The theme of this event centers around the Chocolate House and chocolates.
9:45 - 9:58 am - Stroll around, explore the newly renovated Plaza de Espana, do whatever you want, just don't go to the Chocolate House at ground zero (above
coordinates)
9:58 am - Head to the Chocolate House at the posted coordinates!
10:00 am - Leis and chocolates will be handed out to everyone. Put on the lei and run around Plaza de Espana distributing chocolates to the tourists who are visiting at the time. As you pass out the chocolates, welcome them by saying "Hafa Adai and welcome to Guam!" Once all of the tourists have received a chocolate (or after 5 minutes-whichever comes first), return to the Chocolate House for the rest of the event.
10:08 am - The event "meal" and "drink" will be served. This will consist of, you guessed it, chocolates and chocolate drinks!
10:10 am - Sign the event log sheet.
10:12 am - Assemble for and take group photo.
10:14 am - One minute warning is called "It is now 10:14!" Clean up and prepare to leave the area.
10:15 am - LEAVE the area!
If everything goes right we will have a "mob" of geocachers converging on one spot for a 15 minute geocaching event and then disappearing. This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows.
Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 10:15 am. Afterwards, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of caching. We just ask that these arrangements be done away from the event area.
We are looking for a volunteer who has a digital video camera to record this event as well as a person to take pictures. Please let me know if you can assist with this.
