This is one of my few hides that isn't named after a FAVORITE song, but it does stay in line with my love of animals and their frequent mention in my cache names! Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport is a song written by Australian singer and painter Rolf Harris in 1957 which became a hit across the world in the 1960's in two recordings. It is a song about an Australian stockman on his deathbed and is one of the best-known and most successful Australian songs. The fourth verse of the song was removed after December 1964 because of its use of the word 'Abo', an offensive slang term for Aboriginal Australians. In a 2006 interview, Harris expressed regret about the racist nature of the original lyrics. His rewrite and editing of the lyrics in the 1960's paid off, he re-recorded the song with THE WIGGLES in 2000. It is still popular today as a children's song (Source:WIKIPEDIA.ORG)
