Ted Reep was a early visionary in protecting the Skagit River. As the president of the Chamber of Commerce in the 50's, he was instrumental in preserving the natural habitat and fish runs in the river. In his honor there is an award for outstanding community service. This future park and trail was named for him.
The Ted Reep Trail leads through a 47.4 acre parcel of wetland and woodland conservancy area located along the east shore of the Skagit River. The trail head is in the N/W corner of the Salem Lutheran Church parking lot. From the trail head sign, head due west to find the beginning of the trail mowed into the taller grass. The trail follows along the top of the dike as it takes you along the Skagit River. There is currently 1.5 miles of dirt trail, with plans for picnic areas, as well as river moorage. This will develop into Ted Reep Park.
The cache is located near the beginning of the trail. Please be mindful of the neighbors yards.
This cache was part of the inaugural Mount Vernon Parks Geocoin Challenge.
