Lounsberry is a hamlet within the town of Nichols in Tioga County, New York. It was formerly known as Canfield Corners. The most notable feature is a Best Buy distribution center, the largest employer in the town of Nichols.
Lounsberry at one time featured a ferry across the Susquehanna River that joined it with the hamlet of Tioga Center. If you look through the nearby brush you can see the bridge abutment that marks where the former mainline of the Delaware, Lackawana and Western Railroad used to run. That rail line was obscured with the building of Route 17/Interstate 86.
