It's that time of year again to join thousands of Geocachers worldwide by attending a flash mob event.
World Wide Flash Mobs (WWFM) XI – Where tens of thousands of geocachers at hundreds of coordinated events all around the world are gathering at the same time to celebrate the wonder that is Geocaching (learn more at http://www.gcwwfm.com/home). A flash mob is a term used to denote a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire. Yep, that fits!
Timeline:
11:50 - 11:59 AM - Arrive and hang out nearby but do not go to Ground Zero! Act as if you're a muggle in the area.
12:00 - 12:05 PM - Dash to Ground Zero! Sign the log book I will have at GZ.
12:05 - 12:10 PM - Group photo.
12:10 - 12:14 PM - Swap trackables, share stories, and do any necessary CITO.
12:15 PM - Everyone disperse, hang out/congegrate again nearby, grab some geocaches around the area, eat, etc.
Attendee Tips:
- Get there early.
- Act like a muggle before the event starts (try not to congregate with other geocachers).
- Enjoy the fun spirit of the WWFM.
- At the end of 15 minutes, leave without a trace.
- Plan to meet up with other geocachers later to spend a fun day caching!
Be sure to submit your "attended" log within 2 weeks of the event, in order to receive a special Geocaching.com WWFM XI souvenir.
