The cache is hidden near the Ippon Zakura, a beautiful cherry tree that stands (almost) entirely on its own at the edge of a pond. Local people estimate the tree is several hundred years old. Sakura season comes late to Yamagata due to the long cold winters, and the Ippon Zakura tends to bloom in the first to second weeks of May. This is the most magical time to come here, as the pale pink blossoms are reflected in the water.
The cache is a small container with room for swaps. Please bring a pen. Due to heavy snowfall, it is unavailable between late December to mid-April.
