Since she was originally diagnosed in April 2012, she has undergone multiple surgeries, medications, and radiation treatments. Her strength and determination fighting the cancer continues to inspire friends, family, and many in and out of the cancer community. Despite all of this however, the cancer continues to spread in her body.
Experts around the country have pointed Nathalie's family toward emerging treatments, but because of her age, she is unable to participate in clinical trials that she otherwise meets criteria for. Her oncologist has requested meds under Compassionate Use or an age exemption, but the family has continually been denied by pharmaceutical companies.
There is nothing particularly special about the cache itself, nor does there need to be. It is not located on private property and it is at the posted coordinates. There is absolutely no legal parking nearby so be prepared for a walk - something Nathalie struggles with on a daily basis. This cache has simply been placed to honor the fight that Nathalie and her family continue to battle.
