The Forgotten Footpath - FFP
A short walk along a little used footpath which deserves a bit more footfall. Originally the path linked Churchdown village with Gloucester, departing from Cheltenham Road near the present day junction with Old Cheltenham Road in Longlevens, passing through the now built over Elmbridge Court before ending near to Sugarloaf Bridge in Churchdown.
After the development of Elmbridge and the building of the Barnwood Link Road by-pass, the path was severed and Elmbridge Court Roundabout now marks the start of the path, tracking alongside the by-pass for a couple of fields before picking up the old path towards Churchdown.
Some limited parking can be found close to the start or there is parking available at the opposite end in Churchdown. Bus route 94 passes close to the start and route 98 passes close to the end. Alternatively use the path to access the many caches on Chosen Hill and come back via Zoons court and the cycle path linking Barnwood and Elmbridge.
The path can be muddy in places and there is some overgrowth, particularly near #3.
A simple micro bison to begin with which could be done as a cache and dash, but wouldn't that defeat the point of this trail?!
