Herbert Dvoor's wish that the Case-Dvoor Farmstead be preserved for future generations was realized in 1999 when this historic property was preserved as part of an open space initiative and conveyed to the Hunterdon Land Trust. The Case Dvoor Farmstead, listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, is part of a 5000 acre plot originally owned by William Penn (founder of Pennsylvania). Johan Philip Kaes, a pioneer who emigrated fro the German Palatinate, purchased the property and erected a log cabin with the assistance of his friend, Chief Tuccamirgan and the local Native American Village. He developed a very successful farming business. The Case-Dvoor farmstead was also once the site of a very successful tannery located on the bank of the nearby creek. The current stone dwelling, of Georgian architecture was erected in 1798 by Philip Case, a descendant of Johan Philip Kaes, and currently houses the offices of the Hunterdon Land Trust.
