The cache is located about 200 metres south along the trail from Pottery Road. You will see a small building with antennas attached that says 1962 on it. This is called a stream gauge house, installed under a cost sharing agreement between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Canada's Water Survey. It contains monitoring equipment to measure and record the water level in the stilling well. It is sending information to the Toronto and Region Conservation every 5-7 minutes and has an alarm system in case the levels rise too fast or exceed threshold level.
There is parking available just off Pottery Road, accessible from the Bayview Extension as well as Broadview Avenue. Beware of passersby as this is a very popular trail. The container is a small camouflaged 250ml locking container with room for a few small tradeable and trackable items. In order to open the container, you should first detach it from its location. Enjoy!
Congratulations to TheBarnSwallows on FTF and to f33apilot and The Fearsome Four on a very close STF!
