The Redmond Caves were formed by volcanic flows of molten lava from the distant Newberry Caldera, about 80,000 years ago. At this location, there are 5 different caves of varying depth and lengths to explore. The underground extent of the caves is shown on one of the signs based on a SURVEY done by local cavers and the BLM in 1997.
Note: This is the orginal cache container that has been repositioned due to the recent BLM rules changes. We made it a new cache, so feel free to find again. It is now located north of the Redmond Caves boundary fence. The easiest approach is to come through the cave area from the south, but can be accessed from the north through BLM roads.
PLEASE open me from the opposite end :-)
