Geocache Description:


G:UK cache rating
 This cache is located at High Dam, which was created in 1835 when Finsthwaite tarn was flooded, to provide water power for Scotts Bobbin Mill in the valley. The Bobbin Mill is owned by English Heritage and is worth a visit. It is an gentle walk to the Dam, taking 15-20 minutes. It's a great place for swimming - if it's warm enough of course - and there is plenty of wildlife to see, including the Canadian Goose. The cache is hidden in the roots of a tree and contains lots of goodies. Some boneheads have decided to litter this spot, so we'd very much appreciate it if you could take a placcy bag and remove some litter. This area is beautiful and is being wrecked by beer cans, etc. We go as often as possible to clear it up, but the task seems never ending. Your help would be appreciated.
