The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates, they simply point to Prospect Park.
This one is nice and easy...only five clues...but you'll have to come out to our home borough for the final!
To find this cache you'll first need to check out some of our favorite Brooklyn songs. Each clue will lead you first to an artist and then to a particular song in which you'll find a number (or variable) to plug into the equations below the clues. Follow the steps until you have your final coordinates. There is a lot of GPS bounce in the area so look for a little clearing. The cache itself is cylindrical and one side will unscrew. Please replace carefully and hide it well.
A - Partying can make Brooklyn boys tired, but they obviously believe in their right to do so. They'll sleep when they get home. The number of days they are rockin' the party is variable A.
B - Sodom by the sea has inspired a few songs with the same title. In good times, like the 20s, they sang about it, barber shop style. In rough times, like the 70s, you walked on the wild side while visiting the neighborhood. You're not looking for those songs though, you're looking for the excellent doo-wop tune with the same title. The year the song was released (last two digits) is variable B.
C - This mobster from Red Hook wouldn't remain forever young, he was killed and later immortalized in a song that bears his name. The number of times "crazy" is mentioned is variable C.
D - It happened in Brooklyn specifically, not New York, New York...a local landmark was celebrated in song. The number of times a borough other than Brooklyn is mentioned is variable D.
E - This singer told a sad tale about a showgirl set in a famous NY nightclub and he also sang a melancholy song about his home borough. The width of the river is variable E.
x = (A * B) + E
y = (C * C * E) + B + C + D
N 40° 39.x
