This area at the top of Martin Rd is the finish line for two iconic races in the area. In mid-April cyclists ride 70km from Paris to Ancaster through the muddiest fields and trails possible. The reward is a grueling final climb up a very steep hill right near GZ. In late May, trail runners take over and there are race distances of 10km to 100 miles. Again, the finish line is right here at the top of the hill. I used to run the 25km distance each year and enjoyed the suffering every time!
For both events, knowing the finish line is at the top of the hill motivates us to finish strong! Have fun with this one, and I hope you finish on top too!
