Motywem przewodnim” warszawskiej dzielnicy Ursus jest niedźwiedź - pojawia się zarówno w samej jej nazwie (w pewnym sensie), jak i w herbie, oraz w nazwie osiedla położonego w tej dzielnicy (Niedźwiadek). „Niedźwiedzi” charakter dzielnicy postanowiono podkreślić również w jej najmłodszej części, a więc na Skoroszach, gdzie dominują gęsto umiejscowione bloki wzniesione w ostatnich latach (raczej mało atrakcyjne).
W 2009 roku władze dzielnicy ogłosiły konkurs na rzeźbę niedźwiadka. Przygotowano 32 prace, za najlepszą uznano projekt autorstwa Aleksandry Ławickiej-Cuper. Rzeźbę wykonano w Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej w Orońsku, a sfinansował ją deweloper okolicznych osiedli.
Trzeba przyznać, że ów niedźwiadek, zlokalizowany przy skrzyżowaniu ulic Prystora i Ryżowej, ma niezwykle sympatyczny wyraz pyszczka i z pewnością warto go odwiedzić. :) W ogóle na uznanie zasługuje fakt, że zamiast poważnego, spiżowego pomnika groźnego niedźwiedzia, zdecydowano się na niewielką, za to bardzo sympatyczną rzeźbę przyjacielskiego niedźwiadka. :)

A bear is a symbol of Warsaw Ursus district. The name of the district refers to a bear, we can see a bear in its coat of arms and also the name of one estate in the district (Niedźwiadek) means ‘bear’ in Polish. The idea was to underline the ‘bear’ motive of the district also in Skorosze – the youngest part of the district. It is a typical estate of blocks of flats - it was built in recent years and is rather not a very attractive one.
In 2009 a competition for a bear’s sculpture was organised by the district’s authorities. 32 works were prepared, the one made by Aleksandra Ławicka-Cuper won the competition. The sculpture was made in Polish Sculpture Centre in Orońsko, near Radom, it was financed by the developer of surrounding buildings.
The bear, situated at the intersection of Prystora and Ryżowa streets looks really very nice, so it is worth visiting. It is not a big, dangerous bear, but a tiny and friendly one. :)

Der Bär ist ein Symbol des Warschauers Stadteils Ursus. Der Name des Stadteils bezieht gewissermaßen auf den Bären, wir können einen Bären im Wappen des Stadteils sehen, und auch der Name einer Siedlung in dem Stadtteil (Niedźwiadek) bedeutet der Bär auf Polnisch. Es gab eine Idee, diesen „Bärencharakter“ auch in jüngsten Stadteils von Skorosze einzubringen. Hier dominieren hohe Wohnblocke, die in den letzten Jahren gebaut wurden und eher nicht so gut aussehen.
Im Jahr 2009 hat die Stadteilbehörde einen Wettbewerb organisiert. 32 verschiedene Projekte von Skulpturen des Bärs wurden vorbereitet. Der Entwurf von Aleksandra Ławicka-Cuper hat gewonnen. Die Skulptur wurde im Polnischen Skulpturenzentrum in Orońsko, neben Radom gemacht und wurde von dem Investor den in den Nähe gelegenen Siedlungen finanziert.
Dieser Bär, der auf der Kreuzung von Ryżowa und Prystora Straßen steht, sieht wirklich sehr sympathisch aus. Aber er ist nicht ein großer, starker, drohender Bär, nur ein ganz kleiner und sehr freundliches Bärchen. :)
