Star Trail - Hadar Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

The low health score on this cache has remained below 60 since our last contact. I see no sign of any maintenance being done to correct this and I have had no response from the owner since my last contact. Due to the lack of response I have no idea if any corrective action has been taken. Consequently I am archiving the cache at this time. Under directions from HQ, if the cache was archived for maintenance issues, it will not be unarchived. If you wish to replace it you will have to do so with a new listing.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

As Canadians, we take pride in our starry skies, northern lights, and large stretches of wilderness. Saskatchewan's vast open landscape holds above it some of the darkest skies in Canada, and as such some of the best places for astronomical observing. This series of caches is named after the stars and constellations you may see as you look up.

Hadar (HIP 68702)

Hadar is a blue bright giant star in the constellation Centaurus. At 390 light years away, it is the 11st brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 0.61. Hadar is a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 23.8 km/s relative to the Sun and is part of the Lower Centaurus Crux moving group. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 21,400 and 23,900 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
