Miaplacidus (HIP 45238)
Miaplacidus is a white giant star in the constellation Carina. At 113 light years away, it is the 29th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 1.67. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 31.8 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,600 and 31,700 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
