An easy snatch and grab cache, with immediate parking.
Whilst you're grabbing the cache, check out the rock figs to the right of the cache (called atyerrke in Arrernte - pronounced uh-CHORR-kah- roll or trill the double 'R' like Spanish). Some of these trees are quite old and have died over the past few years, but a few are still alive and bear frult.
The following information is from Wikipedia:
Ficus platypoda, commonly known as the desert fig or rock fig, is a fig that is endemic to central and northern Australia, and Indonesia. The fruit can be eaten when soft and ripe.[1] Horticulturally, it is suitable for use in bonsai; its tendency to form a wide trunk base and small leaves being attractive features.[2]

Yes, you CAN eat the fruit - usually fruits over summer when we get our rain, but it can fruit after rain at any time of the year. The fruit goes red and is soft, a little sweet and dryish.
The cache is a small, black lunchbox with room for small swaps, a pen and a logbook. PLEASE USE BOTH SIDES OF THE LOG BOOK'S pages before turning to a new page, thanks.
