Dubhe (HIP 54061)
Dubhe is a yellow giant star in the constellation Ursa Major. At 123 light years away, it is the 37th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 1.81. Dubhe is a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Dubhe is -0.15 (70.8% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 26.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,400 and 24,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
