Geocache Description:

As Canadians, we take pride in our starry skies, northern lights, and large stretches of wilderness. Saskatchewan's vast open landscape holds above it some of the darkest skies in Canada, and as such some of the best places for astronomical observing. This series of caches is named after the stars and constellations you may see as you look up.

Sargas (HIP 86228)

Sargas is a white giant star in the constellation Scorpius. At 270 light years away, it is the 41st brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 1.86. Sargas is a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 2.8 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,400 and 32,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy.

Sky position: RA 17h 37.3m, Dec -43° 0'
