Rasalhague (HIP 86032)
Rasalhague is a white subgiant star in the constellation Ophiuchus. At 47 light years away, it is the 60th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 2.08. Rasalhague is the primary component of a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Rasalhague is -0.16 (69.2% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 20.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 22,600 and 35,600 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 389,000 years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 1.65 from a distance of 38 light years.
