Gamma Cassiopeiae (HIP 4427)
Gamma Cassiopeiae is a blue subgiant star in the constellation Cassiopeia. At 549 light years away, it is the 64th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 2.15. Gamma Cassiopeiae is a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Gamma Cassiopeiae is +0.02 (104.7% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 20.9 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 24,100 and 25,100 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
