Geocache Description:

I've moved out which makes maintenance complicated. Because this is a favourite cache, I don't want to simply close it. I'm looking for a new owner. If you are interested please leave me a message and I'll handover it to you. Thanks

Histon Wood is a community woodland planted to improve the environment for wildlife and local people.

This wood was planted with help of Cambridgeshire Federation of Women's Institutes in 1994. Local people helped to plant trees on public Planting days. Oak, ash, wild cherry, field maple and other trees were planted with shrubs.

It is open to public, but keep your dog on lead to avoid disturbing wildlife and other visitors. Please, be considerate to wildlife especially small trees.

The wood stretches itself along The Cambridgeshire Guided Busway which connects Cambridge, Huntingdon and St Ives.

It is the longest guided busway in the world. Specially adapted buses are used—on the busway the bus driver does not need to hold the steering wheel on the guided sections. A total of 2,500,000 trips were made in the first year of operation.

You can ride bike, go rollers along it or just take bus (Histon & Impington station) to get to Histon Wood. Be careful when crossing it.

The cache is a small container suitable for trackables exchange.

You should not struggle to find a free place to park your car in Histon. Suggested parting in business park on Shivers way or around Histon Baptist Church.
