One quiet foggy morning in late February of 2014, I was heading up CA State Route 1 looking for an old cache from blackpurl called Capt Jacks Journey. Supposedly it was buried somewhere around the Arroyo De La Laguna Bridge.
As I was approaching GZ, a fast fuzzy bunny ran from the cover of the creek and before I could react, ran into the highway and right out in front of my car! I feared the worst because just days prior I had heard news about the famous Morro Hare going missing and hoped this wasn't him out here looking for the same cache. By the grace of God the critter emerged unscathed and scampered along its merry way.
After the incident I realized this couldn't possibly have been the Morro Hare because this one was not wearing the signature yellow knit sweater. Now every time I drive by this site, I'm always reminded of my close call with this hazardous hare and have since dubbed thee, Roadkill Rabbit.
In celebration of the Morro Hare's safe return and this other close call carrot eater, I placed this hide. And to those who played a role in the rescue cache; Evil Cow Pie, DarkZen and Jcormack... Enjoy this new journey.
This cache was also hidden in place of the sadly archived GC1KM3E, Capt Jacks Journey for which I never did get the chance to find. Safe travels blackpurl. Hope you keep cachin'.
