The Kingston Minature Railway was built around 1983. Recent plans by the ACT Government for a new suburb, 'Eastlake', require that they move to a new location at Symonston. This is a hard thing for them to do, since all of the funds are community donations.
The Kingston Minature Railway holds fond memories for me as a kid growing up. Each year they hosted a fundraiser for the Malkara Special School. My dad would bring me each year and we'd ride on the trains, then go look at all the marvelous model trains and exhibits.
Many years have passed, and it is now I, that brings my kids to enjoy the trains.
My cache overlooks the new site, and pays small homage to these memories.
