Crime Scene Redux Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

coachstahly: Next stop on the maintenance tour. First stage only needed a little help, but I should have checked the final first. It's gone, so it's time to put this resurrection cache to bed.

Geocache Description:

This is now a two stage multi (as its predecessor was) set in Holliday park. NO NIGHT CACHING! BOTH stages are at N 39° 52. and W 086° 09. and the final stage is just off the trail. You only need to find the last 3 digits of N and W at the first stage. For a few people, the first stage just might look a bit familiar. Make sure you CAREFULLY inspect all the clues provided so you can successfully find Mr. Logbooks and get a smile from him once you solve the case!

Chief Inspector coachstahly (Lost and Found Division) opened his mail and found a mysterious postcard from an island in the South Pacific. It contained a short note from a certain “Mrs. Logbooks” saying that her husband hadn’t been seen since the evening of January 11th when he went out for some “free coffee” at a winery in Plainfield. He researched the events at the winery that night and rounded up some suspects for questioning, including Muirwoody, GeoBeavis, scrappinggirl9, jenes2001, and Pirate 4 Hire. They seemed like an innocent bunch – maybe a little quirky – but certainly not criminal. They laughed when he asked them if they knew where Logbooks was. They said they always found Logbooks after looking for a while, even if he couldn’t. He was getting nowhere – it was if they thought there was a magic instrument that they could just point and find Logbooks – he knew it was a lot more complicated than that! He decided to try some oldtime interrogation techniques – put them under a bright light until he got what he needed. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before one of them squealed and told him he knew who had done it. Whoizit? Muirwoody demanded. Broken, he gave directions to the inspector where he could find Logbooks.

Chief Inspector went to the crime scene. It seemed like a calm enough place, but he knew there were things invisible to the naked eye that would crack the case. He soon realized he was going to have to go get his forensics kit before he could do anything. On the next trip he collected some DNA evidence and took some pictures of the crime scene. He put all of the clues together and knew where he could find Mr. Logbooks!!

The container at the listed coordinates has some crime scene photos like the ones here and some other evidence, but no logbook. Like the inspector, you might need to make two trips. Examine the container contents carefully and piece together the clues. They hold the solution for solving the crime, leading you to where you can find Mr. Logbooks and earn your smiley.
