Geocache Description:

The Terrible Hollow
What the Hell?!?

The Cache
Yes! This is not a mistake - it is a NIGHTCACHE! Welcome to the very first nightcache in the Victorian High Country. If you want to blame anyone for this stupid idea please contact coley_babee since withe her event she put a couple of us at the same location at the same time. No, just kidding :) we probably would have done it anyway however we still want to wish her all the best.

Being a nightcache, this is straight forward: You are looking for reflector trails and tags with coordinates. You don't need a strong torch - a reasonable head-torch will do if there is no fog. Your UV torch doesn't have to be the instant sun-burn model, a small pen-style will work. We also placed every reflector and tag twice to make this cache a bit more lasting. Don't be alarmed if you find the same thing again in close proximity.

Access - Summer
During summer you can access the track easy from three directions:

  • North: Mt Cobbler - around 20 km
  • West: King Billy - around 9 km (4WD access only)
  • South: Howitt Car-park: - around 3.5km (2WD access via Licola)

Access - Winter
In winter all the access tracks are closed so you have to walk a little bit:

  • North: Mt Cobbler - around 20 km
  • West: Bluff Track - around 23 km (4WD access only)
  • South: Kelly Hut Track: - around 35km (access via Licola)

Please be safe out there, let someone know where you are going and take care of this wonderful hut.

We hope you'll have a good time and we are looking forward to read your log about it.

Enjoying mother nature you will

This Cache has been placed in compliance with the Morsix rules:

  • Is the location of particular interest? (location, culture, architecture, landscape, ...)
  • Is it a challenge to get to the cache-box? (and that doesn't mean the next high-muggle location)
  • Does it have an innovative camouflage, twist or idea? (a micro is not a twist - it's not even a real cache)
  • Or is it exciting? (night-cache, electronic features, wherigo with a good story, ...)

Only if you can answer at least one question with yes, place the cache. If not, just let it be.
