This commemorative site honors the McLucas family.
In the spring, the city of Maupin (population 400) celebrates the wild fish and wild water. This tradition started with the McLucas family. Their family wanted to bring together friends and other river enthusiasts to work towards a common goal of preserving the wild habitat. This tradition remains alive today. Our commemorative cache reminds folks passing through our small town to stop, take time to reflect, smell the flowers, and enjoy the natural habitat.
