Geocache Description:

You are looking for a micro with log only.

The pioneer days seem so long ago and we seemed so advanced and enjoy a much higher standard of living then when our great grandparents immigrated here well over 100 years ago. Yet, there is a sod house that was built in 1909-1911 and was used by the family that built it until 2007. The house is known as the Addison Sod House and is still there and can be visited and toured by appoinment only. The house, made of sod, haas walls 4 feet thick at the base and they taper to 3 feet at the top and was built by an english immigrant by the name of James Addison. The house was designated both as a national historic site and a provincial heritage site. The house is located 16 km N of Kindersly on highway 21 then 10.6 kms E.
