Geocache Description:

A church was built here around 1676 which was thatched untill 1736, when the walls  were hightened and the roof slated. The current building was designed and built in 1798 - 1800 by John McCracken, mason of Dumfries but was thoroughly remodelled by James Barbour between 1875 and 1877 when it was also re-furbished. “If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list
