The Peoria Park District (PPD) has granted permission to place this
cache in Charter Oak Park. Many thanks to all at the PPD who made
this possible. Wear jeans as a small amount of bushwhacking might
be required and sticker bushes guard the site to some degree. Use
the park’s trails to your advantage, as they are visible from the
cache.
This cache is located in one of Peoria’s newest parks. Visit for
the cache but stay to enjoy the lake, fishing, trails, play area
and more. The container is a well-marked four-inch PVC pipe with
one removable cap. Inside you will find the logbook (please use
both the front and back of each page), trash out bags, extra item
bags and an assortment of items for all ages. When replacing the
removable cap, please hold it firmly in place for approximately ten
seconds to allow the excess pressure inside the pipe to dissipate.
This will keep the cap from sliding back up the pipe and provide a
better weather seal. Get back and log your visit, as they will be
shared with the PPD. I hope you enjoy our Charter Cache.
