L'emplacement de la cache est sur le site de l'Eglise Saint-Étienne du Marin, au niveau de la Place Principale.
LE SITE :
L'église Saint-Étienne du Marin a été construite en 1766. Les deux chapelles latérales ont été ajoutées en 1853 et 1854. Une tribune, aujourd'hui disparue, a été construite en 1844 et le maître- autel classé a été donné à la commune avec les deux statues vers 1769. Le clocher et la façade ont été classés monuments historiques, le reste a été inscrit en 1987.
Monument historique du 18ème siècle, c’est le joyau de la ville. Construite en pierre de taille, elle se distingue des autres églises par son clocher situé juste à côté de l’édifice. Structure de style « Jésuite », elle est surmontée de deux ordres toscans superposés.
Niché au milieu du deuxième ordre, au-dessus de la porte d’entrée, Etienne, le saint patron veille.
L’intérieur est tout aussi surprenant avec la charpente qui rappelle la carène d’un bateau renversé.
Dans le chœur se trouve un magnifique autel de marbre blanc qui selon la légende, était destiné à la cathédrale de Lima, mais, il aurait fait naufrage non loin des côtes du Marin.
En fait, l’autel aurait tout simplement été offert à la paroisse par monsieur François Cornet grâce à un legs de 6 000 livres. Ce dernier s’était déjà distingué avec l’offrande de deux statues : celle de la Vierge et de l’enfant et celle de Saint-Étienne.

The cache is located on the site of the Eglise Saint-Étienne du Marin on the Main Place.
THE SITE :
The church Saint-Etienne of the Marin was built in 1766. Both side chapels were added in 1853 and 1854. A stand, today disappeared, was built in 1844 and master classified altar was given to the municipality with both statues by 1769. The bell tower and the facade were classified historic monuments, the rest was registered in 1987.
