Geocache Description:

This site will tell you about the volitile lumber industry in Everett during the early 1900's. Seven were killed in a shoot out on the city dock November 5, 1916.

My husband and I were walking past this area last Sunday and noticed this informational sign about the lumber industry in Everett. I grew up just above the tracks on Grand Avenue. My father worked at the Everett Plywood Mill for many years. In fact the first house he bought in Everett was owned by the Everett Plywood Milll and had two large wooden water tanks in the back yard. My father tore down the tanks and broke up the cement and buried it all in the back yard. We had a great view of the plywood mill and beautiful sunsets over Whidbey Island for many years! Now the plywood mill is gone and we have the Navy in its place.

Enjoy the area and have fun searching for the cache!

Congratulations to rambudo for FTF!
