All around the world, Geocachers have coordinated a 15-minute meeting that will happen at the same time on this day to bring Geocachers together and introduce others to the world of Geocaching. The event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second longer.
A flash mob is a term used to denote a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire.
This Event is part of the 11th Annual World Wide Flash Mob Event. Hundreds of events all around the world will be coordinated to happen at the same time. At 10am PDT, people all over the world will assemble in pre-arranged groups, do something meaningless, and disperse into the distance! Last year, there were 558 WWFM X events in 42 countries attended by 25,125 people.
We thought meeting here at the world famous Sundial Bridge would be a great place to hold our geocaching world wide flash mob event. People from all over the world have come to marvel at this bridge, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month (go to celebrate10.com for more information about its own celebration).
There is plenty of (free) parking nearby.
- 9:55 A.M. Meet at the 3 benches near the south side of the Sundial Bridge
- 10:00 A.M. Sign the log for the Event and put your name in for a random FTF drawing
- 10:05 A.M. Gather for a group picture in front of the bridge & say Cheeseeeeeeeeeeee
- 10:10 A.M. FTF drawing
- 10:15 A.M. Off we go to enjoy our day
