Geocache Description:

This series challenges you to fulfill a number of tasks, not the least of which is to hike all the way from the Shoreline – aka Burrard Inlet – to the Skyline, which in this case is the top of Skyline Trail in North Vancouver. Traversing a total distance of 8 kilometres, you will face an elevation gain of about 880 metres. The wise cacher will split this adventure into manageable sections. The rest of you should carry plenty of food and water.

Along the way, you will discover a few caches containing clues you need to collect, others that are not what they seem to be, and a couple that we hope will make you smile.

Alfa was placed here to bring you to this tiny, quiet, peaceful spot on North Van's waterfront, Bewicke Park. To the west is the Burrard Yacht Club, home to many playthings that are well beyond our budget. To the east is the mouth of Mosquito Creek, which will be your companion for much of the first half of this series. In the distance you can see a pair of skylines - in front of you to the south is the skyline of Vancouver, behind you on the mountain to the north you can see the distinctive vertical mark of your ultimate destination, Skyline Trail.

Turning your attention to the cache, you are looking for a small camouflaged container. There's room for a writing implement so BYOP.

This small park has seen its fair share of improvements, from new grass and landscaping to more benches as well as the first steps toward restoration of the Mosquito Creek estuary that was lost many decades ago when the shoreline was filled in to create more land for the businesses that once thrived along the waterfront.

We hope you enjoy this series. Remember to cache safely by always being aware of your surroundings, and please put the cache back as you found it
