My wife, daughter, and I are new to the Twin Falls area for work. We really like living in Twin and have found it a very pleasant place to get out and enjoy the area. In our short time here, we have made it a point to get out and learn the area, most often through geocaching. Though it is a nice place, one thing that we have found peculiar is the number of decorative suns on the exterior of people’s homes/garages/apartment buildings. We saw these every now and then where we came from, and think that they look nice here, we have just been surprised with how many there are here. It seems that we can pick any road in Twin Falls and can almost guarantee we will see at least 2-3 decorative exterior suns on houses. We don't know if there is something to this high amount of suns, maybe some of the locals can shed light on this for us, but we have found it interesting and pleasant to look at all the different varieties. Due to this, we have paid special note to some of the street/subdivision names in the area and found that there is also a strong sun theme throughout Twin Falls in this respect as well. This Sun Series of geocaches is made up of 3 traditional geocaches throughout Twin Falls where the location is named after some type of sun theme. There were really a lot of places to choose from to place these caches, but we settled on 3. On the back of the logs of the 3 geocaches is a code, which when all three are combined will help to solve a 4th cache in our Sun Series, a mystery cache located in Twin Falls.
This cache is a small container located in Twin Falls near a place I think of when I think about exterior sun decorations. It is in a high muggle area, but is placed in a location that you can find it without being seen if you are stealthy enough. To find this geocache, you must find the other three traditional geocaches in the series, which each have a clue written on the back of the logs to enable you to solve this cache. The coordinates for this cache are:
N 42° 3A.B85'
W 114° 2C.401'
where A, B, and C can be solved by finding the other caches.
Again, if you have any insight as to the popularity of exterior sun decorations or the prevalence of sun themes in street names and parks in the Twin Falls area, we would be happy to hear them.
