Draco is Harry Potter’s nemesis for much of the Harry Potter series. They are introduced early in the first book where Draco’s bigoted theories of the wizarding world leave Harry alienated from his bullying ways. They become fierce enemies in the hallways of Hogwarts and on the Quidditch pitch. Draco is usually shadowed by Crabbe and Goyle, a couple of classic schoolyard bullies who do Malfoy’s bidding because of his family’s high standing in the wizard world and their close allegiance with the Dark Lord.
Perhaps one of the more memorable scenes in the movie series comes in The Prisoner of Azkaban when Hermoine, fed up with years of verbal abuse from Malfoy, decks him with a solid right hook. Ron calls her first attempt at pugilism “bloody brilliant” and even Hermoine has to admit “that felt pretty good”.
