Geocache Description:

A very small tablock box hidden close to Achill’s newest attraction.

This is a cache hidden beside a relatively new ‘monument’ to the goings on during the ‘Celtic Tiger’. It is called Achill-Henge and was hastily and secretly erected over the course of a weekend in November 2011 by a local property developer as a form of protest and then abandoned.

No planning permission was sought and the planning authorities want it taken down but it is still there and looks like it will be for a long time to come.

It is a concrete version of Stonehenge and is situated above the village of Pollagh another name for it is the Boom Tomb.
