Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to new cachers. It will introduce you to a common hide technique and contain some geocaching 101 advice. Welcome and we hope you find geocaching a hoot!

Part of the challenge of a finding a cache is figuring out how to drive to the GZ (ground zero). Here is some advice:

  1. Many hiders put a clue to the location in the cache name. Examples are “Where Caching is a Pleasure”,  Can I Put a Dollar on That” or “Generally Geocaching is a Hoot”.
  2. Here are two more alternatives to help you determine a cache location before you start driving: a) Right under the coordinates there is an option to find driving directions to the cache. b) Go halfway down the cache description page and click on Geocachiong.com Map .  Look in the upper right hand corner of the map. You can toggle between “map” and  “satellite” to explore the cache location and  use the +/- feature to zero in on the cache. You can use these same functions for the Geocaching phone applications. An example of how this can help is to determine if you are looking for a cache in an open area or shopping center. If you are looking for more than one cache, these maps can also help you determine driving directions.
