While out on a weekend spring camp at Ope with the scout troop we went canoeing on Christie Lake. We stopped for lunch on this amazing island which we like to call Dragonlfy Island. Swarming with beautiful dragonflies Dragonfly Island (actually Watch Island as we found out after) is a great place to be. Because of a Dragonfly's diet there isn't a single pesky mosquitoe in sight! The view is amazing. On the way we saw many Red Eared Sliders and Common Box turtles on logs all along the coasts, but no matter how quiet or stealthily we paddled they always dove away when we came close.
"Dragonfly" (as we like to call it,) or "Watch Island" is a rather small island in the middle of Christie Lake. A watercraft is necesary to reach the island! Please be carefull for near the cache is a bird's nest on the ground with 11 eggs! The cache is a small camoed lock n' lock container on top of the roughly NNW small cliff face.
