A Scout's Eagle Trail in Character Development Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (within 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Follow a scout's rank advancement trail to Eagle
by learning the Scout Law

About the Cache:
Our two boys are in their second year of boy scouts and have each earned the rank of First Class. As scouts progress in rank they are questioned during boards of review on their personal adherence to the Scout Law. As a parent, I often find myself referencing the Scout Law during times of parental intervention amongst siblings. We hope we have created an interesting seven stage multi-cache to introduce or reacquaint geocachers to the elements of the Scout Law.

About the Cache Location:
Welcome to a picturesque views of Newaygo State Park. The coordinates of this cache will bring to the start of your journey to this seven stage multi-cache treasure. Newaygo State Park is a 99-site rustic campground, which sits atop 20-foot embankments overlooking the Hardy Dam Pond, a six-mile flooding of the Muskegon River. The park caters primarily to campers, anglers and recreational boaters. There are several picnic sites overlooking the reservoir for day users. The campground is nestled in oak and poplar forests and is noted for its large, private sites and scenic beauty. There is a 20-30 foot forested buffer between sites, and each site is provided with a picnic table and a fire ring. This park has welcomed geoacachers to it again with another geocaching event planned for June, 2014. There are some terrific caches in this park; please take some time to enjoy them.

The cache's first stage is at the listed coordinates.
