Geocache Description:

This is a fun, family friendly triditional geocache with historical significents.  We introduced our good friends the Bremel Family to geocaching on Momorial Day, 2014. We all agreed that a trip to a local historical site like the "Gettysburg" quarry, which got an exclusive contract to furnish monuments to Union dead, was a great place to start.  We placed a fully loaded ammo box stuffed with great prizes for kids of all ages.  The trail to the quarry is a moderate climb but well worth it.  My 3 year old daughter has accomplished it twice with minimal complaining... slow and steady wins the race.  An extra bonus to visiting this cool marble quarry is the view of the Dorset Valley below which is best viewed from a point ontop the quarries slag pile. The trail head is a gate at the north end of a 50' right-of-way through the "Black Rock Subdivision" to lands hopefully being purchased by the Town of Dorset.

Travel south to a small clearing and head east and up. Stay left and always climb!
