Mushnikas: Like many of my caches, bulldozers or construction projects always seem to ruin them. In this case it seems that the town has thrown up a 6 foot fence that completely blocks access to this cache. I don't want any cachers to try hopping this fence and getting hurt on the barbs & I certainly won't try to climb it if maintenance is needed, so I have to archive it.
Note: I cant blame Oyster Bay for closing this area off, if you want to know the real reason that towns do this sort of thing, read the "Attorneys" chapter in Johns Stossel's book "Give me a Break". Frivolous lawsuits force many towns to fence off any county owned "swimming holes", fields, woods or paths where some one could get "hurt" and turn around and sue. I'm glad that I grew up in the sixties, where we had fun in places like this to enjoy, before lawyers came around and ruined everything.
