Project “GeoXantike” has been designed to reflect Roman life. To help get you into the Roman mood, a Meet & Greet will be held in the partially reconstructed amphitheatre at the LVR-Archaeological Park, Xanten.
Entertainment played a central role in the life of the Romans, and every Roman town was proud of its amphitheatre. A programme of entertainment was offered almost every day, and entry was free of charge. In addition to the entertainment offered in the sand, friends and family often came along together to entertain one another…for many the motto was ‘see and be seen’.
We’ll be recreating this atmosphere exclusively at the Meet & Greet from 18:30hrs on 5 June 2015 in Xanten.
Doors open at 18:00hrs and the event will end at approximately 22:00hrs.
This event includes a live band and surprise guests. As with the main GeoXantike event, attendees are welcome to bring along their own food and drinks (as in ancient times), though drinks and snacks will also be on offer at the arena.
Although the arena is not fully accessible, the audience seats can be reached by those with disabilities.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the standard government-funded Roman programme of entertainment ;-) Entry is therefore €2,50 per adult in advance with free entry for children and young people (if you require free tickets, please request them at the time of booking). We also offer a discounted combination ticket for just €10for those wishing to attend both the Meet & Greet and the main event.
Participants at both events may also pre-book their orders and collect their tickets for the main event on the Friday.
Further information about the Meet & Greet and the main event is available on our website, and you’ll soon be able to book your tickets there, too.
