Geocache Description:

Cache is not at posted coordinates! This is one of 43 caches that will create a "3" on the map over the Talladega Superspeedway. Answer the question below to find the coordinates for this cache.

Note: These easy P&G caches should be done in order from east to west along the shoulder of Speedway Blvd. Please obey all traffic laws and pull your car completely off the highway.

When David Ragan won the Aaron's 499 Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega on May 5, 2013, it was the first time since December 1, 1963 that a driver had won a Sprint Cup Series race in a car #34. Wendell Scott won at Jacksonville on that day. Ragan's win was only the third time a car #34 won a Sprint Cup Series race. The first was by Jim Roper at Charlotte in 1949, the first ever NASCAR race.

What was significant about Wendell Scott's victory in 1963?

1. He was the first Canadian driver to win a cup race (N 33 34.422 W 086 04.431)

2. It was the first Cup race run under electric lights (N 33 33.887 W 086 02.219)

3. He was the first (and only) African-American driver to win a Cup race (N 33 34.864 W 086 05.927)
