Welcome to the city of granite! The name "Lithonia" is derived from the Greek words for rock (“lithos”) and place (“onia"). Lithonia was incorporated in 1856, and its first granite quarry opened in 1879.

In this Whereigo cache, you will be taken on an interactive tour of downtown Lithonia and visit some of its landmarks, buildings and murals to learn more about the city's history. Please allow about one hour to complete the tour.

Welcome to Lithonia - City of Granite.
Parking is available near Stage 1. From there, enjoy a walk along the sidewalks of downtown Lithonia. Cell service will be limited in various areas on the AMNHA Geo-Path. If you are using your cell phone, you can download the cache info to your phone and travel the trails using the offline mode.
