Nodeulseom is an artificial island in the Han River. The uninhabited island is located to the east of the larger island of Yeouido. Hangang Bridge passes directly over the island. Indo Bridge used to span the Han River, crossing Nodeulseom, but was destroyed by the U.S. military in the Korean War to prevent the North Koreans from using it. Nodeulseom was the place where King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty crossed the river on a bridge made of ships when visiting Hwangryeung-won in Hwaseong (1796).
