Geocache Description:

03/29/23- Cache replaced in a new slot not to far away from the original hide. 02/01/23- Item that cache was hidden in was destroyed so I will replace it in a close by spot after I get over COVID. COGRATS TO CAJUN CUZ FOR FTF

I love challenges but there are not many here in Louisiana so I thought I would bring one here that I found in Galveston. If you choose to do this challenge you must find and log 100 caches with the chemical symbol in the GC code.

The rule of the challenge are as follows:

1. Several letters are not used in GC codes and so here are substitutes:

  • Number 0 (zero) for the letter O
  • Number 1 may be used in place of I
  • Use 5 to replace S
  • V may be used for both V and U
  • Use 7 in place of L

2.All cache types, past and present count

3. Qualifying caches can found anywhere in the world

4. Each cache can only be used for one element

5. The element symbol letters must be next to each other, and not separated by a number

6. To document your finds to log the cache, there are two choices:

  • create a bookmark and in the notes, list the element symbol you are claiming along with the GC code. For example GC43K79-K-Potassium.
  • You may also make a list post it to the cache page. For the lists, include GC#,Cache name,Element name,Symbol and Date found.

There is a macro on GSAK that can be used to check if you qualify for this cache.

7.You can sign the log before you qualify for this cache and leave me a note saying you are working on this challenge but you cannot log it until you qualify for the challenge.
