Toronto Argonauts Cache - CFL Series Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kamooks: Checked up today on reports that the area has been logged. It has been extensively logged along the roads where 5 of the caches in the CFL series were placed, and the western stretch of road has been sprayed with some sort of black mud making walking in the bush unpleasant. Only 5 in the series remained and the final cache is gone too. A sign at the start of the road indicates active logging continues, so I have pulled the remaining caches and I am archiving the series. It may return at some point, either in the same area or a new one. Hope you enjoyed it for the past 2 years, and Go Lions!

Geocache Description:

This one is for all the Canadian Football League (CFL) fans out there! It was inspired by the Hockey Cache in Canada series created by Fregley and Pinky in the Doumont area of the VIU woodlot. My brother and I have been die-hard BC Lions fan for as long as I can remember and decided to dedicate a series to the CFL, our very own professional football league.

There are a total of 10 caches in this power trail, nine for the teams and a final for the Grey cup.

Each team cache container is a pill bottle with a log (byop) and hidden not too far off the logging road. The GPSr accuracy was about 4-6 m when setting up these caches, so you may have to look around a bit – don’t get stumped, and they won't bite but may bark!  Oct 13, 2014: The reception can be spotty in this area, so put a small piece of PFT near the team caches to help out. Clues for finding the final Grey Cup cache (49 AB.CDE, 124 FG.HIJ), a medium lock n lock with some CFL swag, are included in the team cache containers and will require a bit of research to solve. Answers can be found in the team cache descriptions or Wikipedia, and are current as of June 2014.

Enjoy the series and feel free to let us know your favorite CFL team or player when signing the on-line log.

Team History: Founded in 1873, the Toronto Argonauts are the oldest existing professional sports team in NA still using its original name. The Argos have won 16 Grey cups (most in the CFL) first one in 1914, most recently in 2012. Uniforms are blue and white. Team has played in 4 stadiums, most notably Exhibition Stadium and Rogers Centre (aka Skydome). Notable player: Michael “Pinball” Clemons (KR/PR/RB, 1989-2000).
